Visiting Iceland for a few days starting Saturday the 24th.I'd like to save a little bit of money by bringing one of my Garmin GPS units along (either a Zumo 390LM or Nuvi 250), and I already have maps for Iceland on both of them (Openstreetmaps). What I would like to do is download 'Safety Camera' (AKA Speed Camera) locations and program those into the GPS, so it will warn of upcoming speed cameras. I have driven in Iceland before and didn't get a ticket but I'd like to keep it that way.Anyone have a link to a good source of an up to date speed camera database for Iceland? I'm willing to pay for it, not a lot, because I can rent a GPS with this functionality from the rental car company, but I'd like to keep it under $25 if possible by using my own GPS.Thanks!PS I've read the speed camera section of the FAQ for this subreddit.
Thanks.I could rent a GPS unit from the rental car company (Sixt, I think it's $15/day and we'll have the car for 5 days, so $75) with this function. My own GPS does exactly this, if I can download an open source database of safety camera locations- but I'm trying to achieve it for less than the $75 it would cost to rent the GPS from Sixt.At least I have the coordinates to the two cameras I saw on my last trip, which is better than nothing, but if there's already a free.CSV file with the lat/long coordinates, I'd like to get my hands on it.
